Full bathroom refurbishment

This job was carried out for a new customer who has a property in Tremar. She needed a new bathroom and it was quite an involved job for a number of reasons.

The old bathroom was in poor condition and hadn't been updated for a long time. A full Asbestos Survey was carried out before work commenced and the Artex safely removed by specialist contractors.

We then removed the old bathroom suite, plumbing and all of the tiles. The electricians also came and did the first fix electrics.

At this point we discovered some damp issues. This meant that some re-rendering of the walls and tanking was required (following the advice of a specialist firm) and this meant the job got a lot bigger than just fitting the bathroom.

The walls were left to dry out and then work resumed on the bathroom refurbishment.

The first job was to put in new insulation and a new ceiling.

The job now progressed as originally planned. The customer chose very small "Metro" tiles so these took a while to do.

Once the floor was tiled, the sanitary-ware was fitted and the plumbing connected up.

The final jobs were to fit the shower screen, sink, bath panel and toilet seat. Pipes were boxed in as required and a set of shelves installed. The electricians also returned and fitted the new light, towel rail and extractor fan.
