Smoking shelter project

This was something a bit different, building a smoking shelter for a business that we work for fairly regularly.

Having discussed what the customer wanted and the approximate size, we first cleared the area of weeds and had a good sweep up. We then measured up and spent a couple of hours collecting materials from nearby suppliers.

A frame was built for the roof and fixed to the existing brick boundary wall. We then built a wooden wall to enclose a second wall of the shelter which is as much as is allowed under current smoking rules.

The roof was covered in translucent corrugated plastic which lets in plenty of light and was an inexpensive solution for the job.

Finishing touches included a shelf, bench seat and a proper smoking bin secured to the wall.

The customers were pleased with the work and sent a WhatsApp that said, "everyone impressed with the shelter".
