Re-covering a footstool

This was an interesting little job for a regular customer.

This footstool was originally covered in leather but this had deteriorated over time. The customer purchased some fabric which she liked and then handed this and the stool over to us for repair.

The first job was to pull out all of the upholstery tacks and remove the leather and padding. The legs of the stool had woodworm so we treated the wooden parts with wood preservative to kill this and prevent it getting any worse.

We then recovered the stool using all new tacks. The footstool turned out well and the customer was pleased with it.
