Painting a cottage

cottage painting

This was a nice job, painting a lovely character cottage in Rilla Mill near Callington

The owners had recently had the property re-rendered and wanted it painted. We were happy to carry this work out and as the cottage is not huge, were able to complete the job in one day. Luckily the weather was fine and dry but not too hot.

As the render was new, we first applied a coat of stabilising solution to seal it up. Problems can occur if paint is put straight onto very dry new render. We then applied two coats of Dulux Weathershield masonry paint. The finishing touch was to paint the two unusual tie-bar crosses black.

The cottage looked really nice with its new coat of paint.

Whilst we were at the property the owner asked us to carry out another small job, concreting the base for the whirly-washing-line into the ground. The customer was fed up with her line wobbling all over the place and as she has a young baby a reliable washing line is very important.
